National Signing Day News

February 3, 2010

Congratulations to Hibriten High School Senior Darius Lipford. The former Prep All-Stars participant signed his Letter of Intent to play football for Butch Davis and the University of North Carolina. The Tar Heels recruited Darius with the idea of using his speed and athleticism at the outside linebacker position. Darius is a great competitor and a high character kid, Prep All-Stars wishes him the best of luck in Chapel Hill.

SMC Combine Participant Off To Hot Start

November 30, 2009

Tanner Plemmons, a Sophomore at Rabun County HS, is off to a fast start this season. Rabun County HS has started the season 4-0 behind Tanner’s 36.5 ppg average.  He hit for a season high 45 points in the second game of the season, followed by back to back games of 34 and 38 points. In addition to his efforts on the offensive end, he’s averaging 7 rebounds a game, and locking up the oppositions best player on defense.

During the fall combine at Spartanburg Methodist College, we rated Tanner as a Low Major plus prospect. He has a strong body for a Sophomore and uses it well to finish with contact around the rim. He showed the ability to knock down perimeter jump shots and is displaying that this season as well. He’s currently shooting 46% from three.  We loved his toughness and basketball IQ.

Be sure to check back with Prep All-Stars as we post updates on how our past participants are fairing this year.

Prep All-Stars Alum Commits

November 19, 2009

David Nyarsuk has committed to play for Bob Huggins at West Virginia University. David is a 7’1″ shot blocker from the Sudan. He attended Patterson Prep in North Carolina last year before moving to the state of West Virginia to finish up at Mountain State Academy. Look for David to block shots and finish around the rim at WVU, much like he did while attending our Summer Camp at Belmont Abbey College.
